Dr. Nick Cartwright is an Associate Professor at the University of Leeds, where he serves as the Director of Student Success within the School of Law. With a PhD in race, identity, and pedagogy, Nick’s research is grounded in Critical Race Theory and Critical Legal Studies, with a particular focus on decolonizing legal education and addressing systemic inequalities in higher education.
Before joining the University of Leeds in 2022, Nick held various academic roles, including Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Northampton, where he was recognised with a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship from AdvanceHE for his transformative contributions to inclusive education. He is also a Visiting Fellow in Race Equality and Education at the Centre for Advancing Race Equality (CARE) and an active member of the Living Black at University Commission.
Nick’s work extends beyond academia; he has collaborated with the United Nations on initiatives promoting peace, justice, and education globally. At this conference, he will share his expertise in inclusive pedagogy and advancing social justice through education.
