Fhatuwani Ravhuhali is currently serving as a Senior Academic Development Practitioner and a HoD of the Academic Development Unit (ADU) at the Centre for Higher Education Teaching and Learning (CHETL) at the University of Venda UNIVEN). Fhatuwani has dedicated his career to enhancing the educational experience and professional growth within the University of Venda.
He has co-authored and published more than forty (40) peer-reviewed journal articles. His primary research interests lie in the areas of student support & staff support and development in higher education, where he explores topics relating to Higher Education, academic development as well as strategies to improve student retention, success, and well-being, as well as professional development and support systems for faculty and staff.
He is a member of UNIVEN’s New Academics’ Transitioning into Higher Education Project (NATHEP) who contributed immensely to the conceptualisation of the Needs-Based Induction (NBI) programme for the University of Venda. He is currently a member of organising committees for the HELTASA Unconference 2024 to be co-hosted by the University of Limpopo and the University of Venda.
