Victoria is a professor of Education Leadership at Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia. She is currently serving as chair of the School of Education. Tory has held multiple positions in JK-12 education in Ontario including teacher, vice-principal, principal, education officer (Leadership) for the Ontario Ministry of Education and program officer (Standards of Practice and Accreditation) for the Ontario College of Teachers.
Her credentials include a Bachelor of Music (Queen’s), Bachelor of Education (Western), Master of Music (Florida State University), Registered Music Therapist, Master of Education (leadership and policy, OISE/UToronto) and Education Doctorate (EdD in leadership) (OISE/UToronto, supervisor Dr. Kenneth Leithwood). Recent publications include a three-book series that, using ethnographic and longitudinal data, addresses experiences of faculty in Canadian universities. Tory has published multiple articles and chapters addressing components of school and district leadership.
