Prof Pamela Maseko

Prof Pamela Maseko Executive Dean: Faculty of Humanities Professor Pamela Maseko has worked for over three decades at various higher education institutions in South Africa, and as a research fellow both locally and abroad. Maseko has extensive experience of the HE sector in South Africa having also served as a founding Board member of the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS), Council member of the Council for Higher Education (CHE) and as member of the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC). She also served as a member of the Ministerial Oversight Committee on the Transformation in the South African Public Universities. She is presently the member of the Board of the National Research Foundation, and serves as the Chairperson of the Board’s Research Development Committee. She is also the current President of the South African Humanities Deans Association (SAHUDA). She holds fellowships in universities in South Africa and abroad.

 

Dr Pumeza Kota-Nyati

Dr Phumeza Kota-Nyati Dean: Learning and Teaching Dr Kota-Nyati is responsible for leading the work of the LT Collab and the conceptualisation and implementation of key strategies to enable success and development for students and staff. To date, she has been serving the University as Director of Emthonjeni Student Wellness. Dr Kota-Nyati has been registered as a Counselling Psychologist since 1999. Her lecturing career extends over a period of 12 years at the University of Port Elizabeth, Vista University, and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Her experience within the different fields of Psychology ranges from employee assistance work and HIV coordination (NMBM), student counselling services (CPUT), Human Resources (Telkom SA), student development (Coega Development Corporation) and private practice.

 

Prof Heloise Sathorar

Prof Heloise Sathorar Associate Professor: Faculty of Education Heloise Sathorar has a distinguished record of teaching, management and leadership spanning 30 years. She has served on various Faculty and institutional committees including the Learning and Teaching committee (LTC), the Tender Adjudication Committee (TAC) and the Higher Degrees Committee (HDC). She has also participated in various leadership programmes including HERS SA, HELM Foundations, USAf Women in Leadership and the Teaching Advancement at University (TAU) Fellowship Programme. In addition, Dr Sathorar is currently the lead co-ordinator for the Faculty in a DAAD Funded project with Oldenburg University and Groningen University. The Dimension of Diversity project facilitate student and staff exchanges as well as collaborative research on teaching and learning. She is also involved in two national engagement projects that work towards ethical university community engagement. Furthermore, she serves on two national advisory boards on teaching and learning with one specifically focussing on School Based learning. She is also a member of the South African Education Research Association (SAERA) and served on the committee that arranged the hosting of the SAERA national conference in Gqeberha in 2018.

 

Prof Enaleen Draai

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP, FACULTY OF HUMANITIES. NELSON MANDELA UNIVERSITY, GQEBERHA/PORT ELIZABETH. Enaleen Draai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Management and Leadership, School of Governmental and Social Sciences in the Faculty of Humanities at Nelson Mandela University. She was the Director of the School from 1 April 2016 to 30 June 2019. She was able to engage in curriculum development and nurture young academics in the academic project.  Enaleen holds DPhil in Public Administration from Nelson Mandela University, Masters in Public Administration from Stellenbosch University and BA (Hons) in Public Administration from Robert Gordon University, UK. Enaleen is currently a Doctoral candidate pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (Higher Education Management) at Bath University Her research focus areas are related to public service governance are service quality, reputation management, organizational trust, skills development and collaborative governance. Her research focus in higher education is on institutional renewal and social justice with a lens on gender equity and equality within academia. Enaleen belongs to a number of national and international associations that includes the International Public Policy Association (IPPA), the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA).
